Job Title: Senior Data Technician

Position Summary:
The Senior Data Technician will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting data systems, ensuring that data is accurately processed, stored, and made accessible to relevant teams. This position requires in-depth knowledge of data management techniques, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical teams to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and troubleshoot complex data systems, ensuring smooth data flow across platforms.
Monitor data storage and processing systems to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security.
Implement and optimize data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data is properly structured for analysis and reporting.
Perform routine data quality checks and resolve discrepancies in data processing.
Manage data backups, disaster recovery plans, and ensure data redundancy protocols are in place.
Write and maintain scripts to automate data-related tasks and processes.
Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards, including data protection and privacy regulations.
Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures for internal teams.
Provide technical support to non-technical users, ensuring proper data access and understanding.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience as a data technician or in a similar data management role.
Strong experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data management tools (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Spark).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Shell scripting.
Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex data-related issues.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data storage solutions.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
Certifications in data management, cloud platforms, or database administration.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Familiarity with big data technologies and advanced analytics.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
